Ministry of Education and F&E Ltd join forces to equip local school with state of the art technology

The Massab Bin Omeir School in Ajman Education Zone received a range of state-of-the-art school equipment, aimed at providing school children with access to the most up-to-date resources. The school has benefitted from a joint donation organised by the Ministry of Education and F&E Ltd, the organisers of GESS (Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions).

Dubai, UAE - April 5, 2011 - The equipment, which was provided by GESS exhibitors including Microsoft, Al Mazroui Medical and Chemical Supplies, SMART and Dymo MIMIO, ranged from computer software upgrades including Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 , computerized science experiment kits, state-of-the-art interactive white boards, projectors as well as ‘MimioClass' room solutions.

"Access to technology and the ability to harness ICT as a learning tool is critical to academic and career success in today's world.Enhancing the teaching and learning experience in schools in the UAE is at the heart of our continued success in delivering world class education to children throughout the UAE. Through our ongoing partnership with F&E Ltd, we have underlined the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors which serve to enhance education by utilizing world class technology and international best practice learning programmes," said Khawla Al Mualla, Assistant Undersecretary for the Department of Education, the Ministry of Education.

"The joint school donation is yet another example of the Ministry of Education's commitment towards enhancing education standards in the UAE," added Dr. Khawla.

"This is a profound gesture from the exhibitors of GESS for the children at Massab Bin Omeir School. With the right tools, we believe students can strive to reach their full potential when they have access to the right technology, tools and training. This donation will certainly give our students the skills and knowledge they need to compete and thrive in today's technology-driven world." said Amna Saeed Alalily, Principal, Massab Bin Omeir School.

Alalily, also thanked the companies involved in this donation affirming the importance of cooperation between both private and public sectors in order to improve the educational environment.

Anticipation is building for the upcoming GESS 2011, the only exhibition of its kind in the region addressing the entire spectrum of educational needs, from early years to higher education. The fourth edition of the show will witness over thousands of education professionals during the three days of the event.
