DYMO/Mimio now offering MimioStudio 7.1 for educators

San Francisco, CA - January 11, 2011 - MimioStudio v7.1 for teachers is now available for the Mac in 26 languages, allowing teachers to project templates and lesson plans onto any dry-erase board capable of showing and controlling animations, videos and -- in combination with the MimioTeach hardware that turns dry-erase boards into interactive whiteboards -- capturing and sharing work created in classrooms.

MimioStudio includes hundreds of interactive and customizable templates, images and activities that can be projected using a regular projector. The program also accepts lessons created in slideshow or PDF format, and the MimioTeach stylus allows teachers to control presentations from the board itself rather than having to dash back and forth between the presentation and the projector.

A related MimioCapture ink recording system -- special dry-erase markers -- feed input back to a computer, allowing drawings or notes written on the board to be saved for future use or sharing in differentiating colors. Another add-on, MimeoVote, allows accurate quiz or poll results to be captured as well.

In addition to the templates provided by the company, users can also download MimioStudio-compatible lesson plans from the online MimioConnect community, currently boasting 55,000 members and more than 3,200 lesson plans at various grade and learning levels.

Dymo also plans to debut MimioStudio 7 for Linux at the London-based BETT trade show tomorrow. Initially available only in English, other languages will be added later. Currently the Mac and Windows versions support Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, Bahasa Malay, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, US and UK English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian and European Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Vietnamese.

MimioStudio is available for download now from the company's website, and requires a 1GHz or faster processor (PPC or Intel) running at least Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. The MimioTeach stylus requires one available USB port for the input receiver.
